Grand Canal is the third book in my nine-part Kaifeng Chronicles series of novellas set in late Ming dynasty China.

Li Bing travels to Beijing on the Grand Canal, stopping briefly in Kaifeng on his way to write the metropolitan examinations.

His trip is interrupted by criminal activity involving corrupt officials.
