Most memoirs are written by one person talking about life experiences. This memoir is written by three people sharing their memories of the same events demonstrating how children’s memories are distorted by the emotional impact of the event. Their stories do not always agree with one another on the facts.
Their stories begin with their idyllic lives pre-war. Where they lived, school, friends, their social life, and their social circle. All that ended with the invasion of the Philippines by the Japanese.
The book ends with their exciting rescue and return to the United States.
