Adopted at birth, Marnie has spent most of her life blissfully ignorant of the identity of her birth parents – until certain events force her to delve into her past, with unexpected and painful results. Meanwhile, in Dublin, her philandering long-lost second cousin Dave’s marriage is in tatters and he’s about to be a father again.

Various personal and professional crises, compounded by political events and the Covid pandemic, complicate their lives further, but also bring them together and teach them something about who they are and what true family is – and it has little to do with DNA.
